proud mama moment

In this blog that is mostly dedicated to food, I need to take a moment to say how thankful I am that we have access to high quality food in abundance.  I realize in this Christmas season, that we may not receive all of our "wants" but we are blessed to have all of our needs met.  Not everyone is that fortunate.

On December 23rd, Noah and I went to Feed My Starving Children with my dad to pack meals that get sent around the world.  There happened to be a reporter there from the Pioneer Press.  Noah's picture made it into the paper.  Call me a proud mama!

Merry Christmas!
My wish for you is that you have all of your needs met and some of your wants too!

  1. Merry Christmas (a little belatedly) to you, too Shelley! I hope your day was wonderful!

Our family loves volunteering at FMSC too. Our 4H group goes over once a year and we've also set up a group with families from church to volunteer. It's a great organization. How fun that your son made the paper! :)

We had a very nice Christmas and now are having a low-key night at home.

I'm researching anti-inflammatory diets online in hopes of coming up with something that will be helpful for my SIL who has a very serious case of Lyme's disease. She's been hospitalized more than once (for two weeks last summer) and is at the end of her rope. I want to try and help her get started on an eating plan that will help her fight the Lymes, lose weight and feel better. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks so much!

Blessings to you and your family!
